IDH serves two principal types of patients: contract and walk-in.
Contract patients, representing 64% of total 2023 revenues, include institutions such as unions, syndicates, private and public insurance companies, banks and corporates that enter into one-year renewable contracts at agreed rates per-test and on a per-client basis.
Walk-in patients, accounting for 36% of total 2023 revenues, are also referred to as “self-payers,” as they are individuals who pay for their own healthcare, out of their own pockets in advance of tests being completed.
The availability of social and private healthcare insurance in emerging markets is on the rise. As IDH’s markets develop and become more institutionally-oriented, an increasing number of patients will be having medical diagnostic tests performed under corporate agreements.
